by Orlando C. Fernando Over this season of the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel", I took episode opinion polls on the alt.tv.buffy-v-slayer Usenet newsgroup. (If you don't know what on earth a newsgroup is, don't worry. It's an electronic spot with a bunch of people.) The polls had multiple choice questions on what they had thought about various aspects of the episode. I am doing them for pure fun and to find out what parts of the show people loved, hated, and would like changed. (These are done for neither market research, the show's producers, nor the Warner Bros. company.) Presented below are the results from most of the episodes during the 1999-2000 season. Percentages indicate how many people out of the total polled selected each choice. If you wish to participate in these polls, look for my episode poll updates on my TV/Movies page after each new episode airing in the US. I also send announcements to the alt.tv.buffy-v-slayer newsgroup. |

"Room WIth a View"
was about Cordelia having ghosts in her apartment. Between 36-46 people voted
on the individual questions. Poll statistics were accidentally deleted, therefore
the most popular voted answers are shown in bold italics.
| 1) How did you like Cordelia's speech about "being punished" early in the episode? | ||
| a. I didn't like it. Cordie
is best when she's feisty and mean, not feeling guilty about how she treated people in high school. |
||
| b. I didn't like it. Cordie didn't show enough remorse for her bad behavior in high school. | ||
| c. I liked it. It's high time Cordelia faced up to the past. | ||
| d.
I loved it. Cordelia is admitting she did wrong in high school but still didn't feel *too* guilty about it...just the right balance! |
||
| e. I have no strong feelings either way. | ||
| 2) How did you like Angel and Cordie's interaction when she stayed over? | ||
| a.
Hilarious! Cordie is so self-centered and sloppy, while Angel is such a fusspot. More scenes like this, please! |
||
| b. I liked it, but I wish there had been some spark of romance between them. | ||
| c. It was nothing great. I prefer Cordie's banter with Doyle. | ||
| d. I hated the idea of any girl but Buffy sleeping overnight at Angel's apartment! | ||
| 3) Doyle's problems with the "bill collector": | ||
| a. Pretty exciting for the action scenes and the new insights into Doyle's life. | ||

I've seen too many other shows deal with guys running from thugs looking for money. |
||
| c. No strong opinion either way. | ||

| a. Were very funny in the first half! Charisma Carpenter was born to do comedy! | ||
| b. Were pretty scary toward the end. | ||

| d. Yawn...same old boring special effects you see in every other haunted house movie or TV show. | ||
| 5) How did you react to the mother entombing her son alive in the wall of the house? | ||

| b.
Her character needs to grow beyond the old bitchiness, but it was necessary
for her to call upon that side of herself to scare away the evil mama ghost. |
||
| c. I was disappointed. Cordelia
had shown signs of becoming more sensitive, but she ended up back to the old nastiness. |
||
| 7) Angel wet, in a towel: | ||
